The kingfisher that I remember from growing up in South Africa was quite a small bird but so vibrantly coloured.

When we would go to the lake, we would see them there.

This creation is made using professional oil pastels on watercolour paper and then the background was painted in rich gold acrylic paint.

This little painting would look fabulous paired with the other kingfisher painting I have created called: Kingfisher on a rock.

They are small but pack a punch, just like the birds themselves.

This wooden panel can also stand by itself, without hanging.
